Arun Nanda

Mr. Arun Nanda holds a Degree in Law from the University of Calcutta, is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) and Company Secretary (FCS). Mr. Nanda has participated in a Senior Executive Programme at the London Business School.

He joined the Mahindra Group in 1973 and held several important positions within the Group , including setting up several cos in the services sector , over the 40 years he was with the company. He was inducted to the Board of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) in August 1992 and resigned as Executive Director in March 2010 to focus on the social sector and create a favourable ecosystem for senior citizens. He however continued an a non-executive director till August 2014. Thereafter he was NonExecutive Chairman of several Mahindra group companies till 2024.

Mr. Nanda is the Managing Trustee of two Trusts which work in the area of bringing dignity and purpose in the lives of senior citizens. The Adhata Trust focuses on several activities for senior citizens. Currently there are about 20 community and day care centres and is building a geriatric wing in an existing charitable hospital. The Blossoming Hope Trust has built a charitable home for about 100 senior citizens near Mumbai.
He has held several senior positions in various trade bodies including the Indo French Chamber of Commerce (currently Chairman Emeritus) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He was a Member of the Task Force set up by the B20 on Anti-Corruption which presented the policy paper to President Sarkozy at the G20 Summit held in Cannes in November 2011 and to President Putin in St. Petersburg in June 2013.

Mr. Nanda was honoured with “Chevalier de Legion d’Honneur“ by the President of the French Republic, Mr. Nicholas Sarkozy in 2008.

He has also received seven lifetime achievement awards from various organisations.

He lives with his wife Neeru in Mumbai and has two children Pooja and Uday.
